What Happened
When & Where: At approximately 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, a shooting occurred outside the Gaslight Lounge on West Fourth Avenue in downtown Anchorage

The Victim: The gunman was identified as 23-year-old Leroy Manogiamanu, who was pronounced dead at the scene

Surveillance video shows two masked men and a group of women approaching the bar; none of the men entered the Gaslight Lounge

A dispute involving two women led to the group remaining outside. One masked man brandished a firearm during the encounter, leading to a struggle with a guard. The gunman then opened fire

One guard was shot seven times, another in the hand. As the shooter backed away firing, a third security guard—a military veteran—retrieved a rifle from his trunk and returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect

The suspect was pronounced dead in a planter outside the bar. Police arrived within a minute and took control of the scene
